You are invited to experience dance for what it is, in an honest form, free from distractions of extravagant lights and scenery. In a show that isn’t holiday-related, you will experience dance in an untraditional performance space. This experience of dance "in-the-raw" is up-close, intimate, and bare. Contemporary Dance Theater‘s College Hill Town Hall is charming, intimate, and historic. In this minimally-adapted space, the evening’s performances alternate performance with an opportunity to discuss the work with the artists. We invite your questions, thoughts, and reactions. |

The programPresented by MamLuft&Co. Dance, you’ll experience fresh modern dance by four choreographers, with four Cincinnati premieres! The evening will be performed by MamLuft&Co. Dance, with choreography by MamLuft&Co. Dance (Jeanne Mam-Luft and dancers), Sarah Gamblin (of Denton, Texas), Betsy Miller (Providence, Rhode Island), and Susan Honer (MamLuft&Co. Dance). In a work by ML&Co.’s Jeanne Mam-Luft and dancers, the company will preview a section of its new work, Pieces, to premiere in February. Pieces is a work about fragmentation, division, and the making of borders — untouchable and physical. Sarah Gamblin’s three-part work, "Under" is a rousing ensemble piece choreographed to break-out indie-folk artist, Sarah Jaffe. Betsy Miller’s "Night Passage" is a visceral solo about grief and transcendence and the places between. And lastly, ML&Co.’s Susan Honer previews her solo, "Untitled (this is for you)." After each act, the artists will seek your thoughts and give you an insider look at their artistic processes. Your input may influence future performances! Sarah Gamblin and Betsy Miller will connect with the audience via live video feed from Texas and Rhode Island, respectively. |
